Abstract

The ambient pollution in big cities is associated to an increase in morbidity and mortality of the population. In Brazil, there are some studies that have evaluated the association among many air pollution and health outcomes. Our aim was to identify studies performed in the country that looked for an association between pollution and the health of the population. We found 27 studies. All of them detected some association between pollution and a worsening in the health. We could not determine which of the pollution agents are more relevant to the problem.
