The environmental risks of ozone
Keywords:
pollution, ozone, diseases, mortalityAbstract
The growing number of air pollutants has been causing damage to health, especially in large urban centers and more susceptible populations (elderly and children). Scientific studies have shown with more accuracy the risks of certain pollutants, including ozone, one of the most harmful. Health managers and policy makers should be aware of the direct and indirect costs of diseases caused or exacerbated by environmental pollution. Technological development has accompanied the growth of urban and elderly people. These will become a bigger problem in the future, therefore, measures for pollution control are mandatory for all major cities to refrain from even greater harm to society and health systems.
